INON Z-240 Mk4
The INON Z-240 offers a phenomenal range of features and benefits that
make this the first choice of many of the worlds leading professional
underwater photographers. Combining high power, wide angle coverage and
near instant recycling with thought through user friendly exposure
functions and triggering options, the INON Z-240 leads the field
outperforming many much larger and heavier underwater flashguns.
The INON Z-240 is a high power strobe providing a guide number of 24
metres @100 ISO. It combines this with wide angle coverage of 100
degrees which covers popular wide angle lenses for compact cameras
including the INON UWL100 and UWL105 models or Nikon's DX12 - 24mm or
Canon's full frame 17 - 35mm D -SLR lenses. This can be increased,
officially, to 110 degrees using the supplied 0.5 diffuser. However
Martin Edge has used a single INON strobe to light a full frame fisheye.
Recycling time on full power is under two seconds. It's this
combination of power, coverage and speed in an ultra compact body that
makes the INON Z-240 so remarkable.
Three exposure modes are provided on the INON Z-240. TTL
exposure operates with most compact camera systems and an increasing
number of D- SLR housings using an INON fibre optic cable, renowned for
their reliability. The TTL can be user adjusted to introduce deliberate
under or over exposure for difficult subjects that can confuse some
cameras TTL meters or for creative effect. Auto exposure uses the INON
Z-240's built in light meter and can also be user adjusted for tricky
subjects. Full manual power is also offered with 13 different levels of
output available for very fine 0.5 stop adjustments to the exposure.
The Z-240 Mk4 is equipped with a newly developed ultra sensitive slave
that can be used on auto, manual or TTL exposure. A 3 Watt LED
modelling light is built in with an auto shut off feature to prevent it
appearing in your shot - it cuts out during the instant of exposure. The
Z-240 accepts a standard Sea and Sea Nikonos type synchronisation cord
for connecting to most popular prosumer and D -SLR housings.
INON Strobes
INON D-2000. S-2000 and Z- 240 underwater strobes all offer
outstanding ease of use, fast recycling, high power and wide angle
coverage making these the only strobes you are ever likely to need for
all your macro, close up, fish and wide angle underwater photography.
When used with digital compact cameras in most housings, all INON
strobes provide you with the convenience of TTL exposure for properly
lit images. For difficult subjects that can confuse any TTL system you
have TTL compensation that allows you to tweak the TTL exposure slightly
for the perfect shot. Full creative control is also yours thanks to
manual override that lets you choose from 13 different power settings.
D- SLR users should check INON strobe compatibility with their INON or
housing dealer. Some D- SLR housings allow the use of fibre optic cables
and may support TTL. Others require a Nikonos type cable (only useable
with the INON Z-240). These may support TTL using conversion circuitry
supplied by the housing manufacturer or a third party. The 13 power
settings on INON underwater strobes makes it easy to get perfect
exposures using manual control if your D- SLR does not provide TTL.
INON strobes are extremely compact and lightweight. Your INON strobe
will be easy to handle under the water, even in current and easy to
travel overseas with.
