Aqua Lung
Aqua Lung lighting systems are designed and manufactured by their Technisub division. Founded in 1962 by former World War II combat swimmer and world underwater congress (CMAS) co-founder, Luigi Ferraro, Technisub produce superb lights for the recreational diver. More than 20 years ago they were among the first companies to fully exploit rechargeable battery technology and to utilise halogen bulbs for a brighter, whiter light that penetrated further through water. They became the torches of choice for many top British cave divers - and that is not an environment to fool around in with anything but the best kit.
Technisub Quartz MK11
£33.95
The Quartz MkII is a development of the Raggio, first introduced 20 years ago. It's longevity is the result of an original and successful design. The Quartz MkII is extremely compact, yet delivers a powerful and, for such a small light, surprisingly wide beam. This makes the Quartz MkII a strong contender as a primary night diving light. The body of the Quartz is lightweight, yet strong enough for use to 120 metres. The torch is sealed with both a piston and a compression O ring, so floods are unlikely. The on/off switch is a slider and easily operated with thick gloves. Technisub use a magnetic switch, so there is no penetration point or seal involved.

The Quartz MkII has a faceted reflector, which is how it creates a wide beam. Precise focusing of the bulb is done using internally fitted spacers and will optimise the performance of your Technisub Quartz MkII. Output is around 110 lumen. You can choose to use either four or eight AA cells. Using eight cells will double your burn time. Alkaline cells will power your Quartz MkII for around 150 or 300 minutes, while rechargeable cells provide one to two hours burn time. A lanyard is included.

Technisub Lumen X4
£23.95
A small light with an elliptical body making it easy and comfortable to grip and aim. Output of the Lumen X4 is around 110 lumen. The reflector is smooth creating a spot beam. This makes the Lumen X4 an excellent choice for day diving when you want to search under overhangs or look into holes. It's also well suited as a back up light for night diving. The switch is easily operated with gloves on and the lanyard incorporates a lock to prevent your Lumen X4 turning on by accident. The light is rated to 120 metres. Four alkaline C cells will provide around six hours use. Rechargeables will typically provide around half this, depending very much on the quality of the cells.
Technisub Lumen X6
£24.95
The Technisub Lumen X6 is a mid sized dive light that can be used safely as deep as 120 metres. The torch is shaped elliptically, making holding it and aiming it easy and comfortable. It has an output of 130 lumen. The smooth reflector creates a tightly focused spot beam, so this is a torch well suited to day time diving when you want to see into dark areas such as wreckage, under rocks or look under ledges. It also makes an excellent back up light for night diving. Expect six hours burn time from six alkaline C cells. Rechargeables usually provide around half this. The simple on/off switch can be locked to prevent your Technisub Lumen X6 from turning on unintentionally by using a fitting on the lanyard.
Technisub Vega 2
£69.95
The Vega is one of the most distinctive dive lights ever made. Indeed, the original Vega dates back more than three decades. The Vega 2 is Technisub's workhorse night and wreck diving lamp. It uses a multi-faceted reflector to achieve a wide, even beam, essential to seeing where you are going at night and through overhead environments. Five C cells can power the Vega 2 for as long as sixteen hours, so high performance doesn't mean high operating costs. This combination of beam width, high output and low power consumption makes the Technisub Vega 2 an ideal travelling companion as you can make a holiday's worth of night and wreck dives on one set of Duracells in many cases.

The body of the Technisub Vega 2 has a double seal for protection from flooding. Both a piston O ring and a gasket are provided. Fluorescent panels help make your Vega 2 more visible if you lose it! The on/off switch is easy to operate and includes a pulse setting for gaining attention or signalling. A sliding cover locks the switch to prevent the lamp turning on by accident. The famous rear grip that signifies a Vega series light makes this a very comfortable lamp to hold and aim. A lanyard is, of course, included.

The 4 watt bulb burns for up to 5 hours on a set of alkaline cells.

The Tec 40 is also recommended as a focusing or spotting light for underwater photographers. We can attach it to most underwater camera systems---ask us for details...

It's powered by 4 AA batteries (included) and supplied with a lanyard.

Princeton Tec 400
The Princeton Tec 400 makes a great day diving light or back up torch for night and wreck work. Powered by four C-cells, it delivers upto five hours of light. The smooth reflector keeps the beam narrow making it ideal for looking under ledges and into holes, while maintaining brightness.

The Tec 400 has an on/off switch, so it's easy to use one-handed. A spare bulb is thoughtfully provided and is conveniently stored inside the body. A lanyard, and even batteries, are included making this super value for money.

The Tec 400 was one of Princeton Tec's first diving accessories and it has certainly stood the test of time. They've been around for more than twenty years.

Princeton Tec Rage
The Princeton Tec Rage is an exceptionally small light that puts out 2.6 watts in a tightly focused solid beam. This makes a good day diving light for checking out crevices or for use as a gauge light. Burn time from 4xAAA alkalines is just over an hour. Simple twist on/off switch. The Rage is equipped with a clip for easy mounting onto webbing, such as a shoulder strap and a split ring is also included to which a lanyard or retractor can be fastened. Batteries are included.
Princeton Tec Surge
The Princeton Tec Surge is a powerful, versatile and surprisingly compact dive light. The 7.5 watt output places it in the same lighting class as many full size lanterns, yet the surge is only 16 cm long. This makes it unobtrusive enough to slip into a BCD pocket or clip to your harness until needed. So it is ideal as a powerful back up light on night, low viz and overhead environment dives or as a day diving torch for looking under ledges or revealing true colours. The faceted reflector provides a wide beam. This also makes the Princeton Tec Surge a good candidate as a primary night diving torch, unusual in such a compact torch, minimising weight for the travelling diver. The beam can be focused underwater by simply turning the lens bezel for optimum illumination. An on/off switch is fitted. AA batteries load easily into the battery cage. You can use four cells for a burn time (with alkaline batteries) of around three hours or use eight cells for a five hour life. Output is unaffected. A set of Duracells and a lanyard are included.
Princeton Tec Shockwave
The Princeton Tec Shockwave is a powerful handlamp that's suited to night and low visibility diving. The halogen bulb puts out a white light for truer colours and maximum illumination. Output is a respectable 12 watts. The pre-focused faceted reflector ensures an even and wide beam. Eight C cells (Duracells are included) will power the Shockwave for between four and five hours. The Shockwave has a locking switch, so it won't turn on accidentally in your dive bag, and a traditional pistol grip for easy aiming. A lanyard is provided.
Princeton Tec Shockwave 11
The Princeton Tec Shockwave 11 is a compact dive light for serious recreational use.

The Shockwave 11 shares similar features to the rechargeable - other than that it is not supplied with rechargeable batteries or a charger! The Shockwave 11 is an excellent choice for the diver who is going to use their lamp for holiday diving and does not want to be bothered with the upkeep of rechargeable packs.

The Shockwave 11 is supplied with a dual filamant bulb. Flicking the on/ off switch allows you to select either full power or half power. At 15 watts, full power is a very respectable output for exploring at night. A set of alkaline batteries will drive the light on high power for around 4 to 5 hours.

If you want to conserve battery power or simply don't need the full 15 watts, perhaps because you are studying something close up, then you can drop the output to 7.5 watts. At half power you'll enjoy up to 10 hours burn time from one set of batteries.

Another important benefit of the Shockwave 11 is that if you experience a bulb failure, it is only likely to affect one filament. Provided you are carrying a back up light, you can safely switch to your second filamant and continue your dive. With a normal light, a bulb failure usually means turning on your back up and using it to head swiftly to the surface: dive over. A nice feature is the on/off and power selecter switch. You can switch power settings without having to turn the light off as the switch moves from off to half power to full.

The Shockwave 11 provides a solid mid-width beam. The pistol grip incorporates a simple and efficient locking switch.

A lanyard and 8 C-cells are included.

Princeton Tec Shockwave Rechargeable
The Shockwave Rechargeable is a value for money high output hand-lamp. The halogen bulb provides 20 watts of light for just over an hour. A nicke-cadmium power pack is included, along with a charger. It's perfect for serious recreational diving and being rechargeable very cost effective if you dive regularly.

The Shockwave has been thought through. Accepting that it may not be possible to charge the power pack in some locations or when making repetative or very long dives that leave insufficient time to fully recharge the power pack, the Shockwave also accepts alkaline C cells. Using these will provide up to 5 hours of light at 12 watts.

The dimpled reflector provides a solid mid-width beam, making the Shockwave an excellent choice for diving at night or exploring caverns and wrecks.

The pistol grip incorporates a lock for the on/off switch.

The Princeton Tec Shockwave is presented with 3-pin charger, Ni-Cad power pack, 8 Duracell batteries and a lanyard. It is supplied in a form fitted and foam lined outfit case to ensure maximum protection for your Shockwave Rechargeable between dives.
