Trident Reef Hook
Reef hooks help protect both divers and the environment. Used in current to keep a diver in position, the hook, which is blunt, is carefully anchored into a piece of dead reef. A short length of line is attached to the diver. With a little positive buoyancy, the diver floats above the reef.

The diver does not have to fin strongly to maintain position. This saves air and becoming exhausted as well as helping prevent buddy separations. Great for photographers as a reef hook also leaves your hands free. Because the diver isn't lying prone on the reef, the coral isn't squashed. And because the diver no longer needs to kick, fin thrust does not damage coral below and behind.
